Background

  • The National SDG Council approved the establishment of the National SDG Center on September 5, 2022.
  • The National SDG Center, under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy (as the national focal point for SDG), officially commenced operations on August 1, 2023.

Main Function

  • Coordinating, empowering and monitoring the progress of the implementation of the country's SDG and ESG, aligning with the implementation of the SDG Roadmap Phase 2 and 3, as well as the 12th and 13th Malaysia Plans towards 2030.
  • Facilitating and encouraging strategic cooperation with stakeholders at various levels in the implementation of SDG.
  • Acting as the secretariat for the National SDG Council, the SDG Steering Committee and the SDG Technical Committee.
  • Providing input or reports related to the achievements and progress of the country's SDG, such as the Voluntary National Review.
