- Disposal of Bumiputera and/or Government Agency-owned real estate valued at RM20 million based on the Property Procurement/Disposal Guidelines (GPPH); and

- Bumiputera Development
- Design, plan, and control policies and strategies that can enhance Bumiputera participation in a more meaningful economy;
- Coordinate ceilings and monitor the implementation of the 12th Malaysia Plan programs/projects for Bumiputera entrepreneurship;
- Coordinate programs and projects involving Bumiputera-mandated agencies and State Economic Development Corporations;
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of implementation and the effectiveness of policies and strategies for Bumiputera participation in the economy of the Five-Year Malaysia Plan (RMLT);
- Collect data/information on employment by ethnic group, economic sector, and job category;
- Update methodology and implement calculations of corporate sector equity ownership;
- Analyze imbalances in ownership and control in the corporate sector and participation in employment; and
- Provide recommendations to assist in achieving economic balance goals.
- Sectoral Regulation
- Consider proposals for the disposal of Bumiputera and Government agency-owned real estate valued at RM20 million and above;
- Update guidelines periodically as needed; and
- Provide advisory services related to GPPH received.
- Inclusive Development
- Formulate policies, strategies, and programs for poverty eradication and income distribution;
- Collect and analyze data/information on poverty eradication and income distribution among all ethnic groups;
- Analyze trends and the status of poverty and income imbalances, and provide short- and long-term projections using economic models developed in line with poverty goals and targets;
- Coordinate and oversee studies on poverty and income distribution;
- Coordinate and update methodologies for poverty line income calculations and poverty measurement;
- Develop a poverty and income distribution information database based on census, studies, and special investigations;
- Coordinate and assist with information flow requirements to other agencies, whether public or private sectors;
- Monitor and oversee the implementation of poverty projects;
- Evaluate the effectiveness of poverty eradication programs;
- Provide recommendations and suggestions to improve the effectiveness of urban and rural poverty eradication programs and income distribution;
- Perform other tasks as directed by the Minister and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Economic Affairs from time to time.
- Poverty Unit
- Coordinate the implementation of poverty initiatives/programs/projects at the Federal, state, district, private sector, and CSO levels;
- Coordinate data and information collection related to poverty based on census, studies, and special investigations;
- Analyze trends and make short- and long-term projections related to poverty; and
- Monitor the effectiveness of poverty initiatives/programs/projects at the Federal, state, district, private sector, and CSO levels.
