5 February 2025, Kuala Lumpur - YB Dato' Seri Rafizi Ramli, Minister of Economy, proudly officiated the launch of 'Reducing Inequality and Enhancing Mobility in Malaysia' at the Auditorium, Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur on 5 February 2025. Also in attendance was YBhg. Datuk Dr. Zunika Mohamed, Deputy Secretary General (Policy) of the Ministry of Economy.

According to the Ministry of Economy, while Malaysia has made significant strides in poverty reduction, progress in narrowing the inequality gap has slowed. With wealth increasingly concentrated among top earners, a concerted effort is needed to enhance social mobility through policies such as progressive wages and workforce development programs.

This important report outlines key policy actions to bridge opportunity gaps and ensure every Malaysian can thrive as the nation moves towards high-income status.
